Aerospace Precision of TC16 titanium alloy fasteners

Recently, an aviation aerospace precision model of TC16 titanium alloy fasteners manufacturing process innovation project achieved a major breakthrough. Based on the original TC16 titanium alloy fasteners hot upsetting forming manufacturing technology, aerospace precision through the technological upgrading successfully realized the continuous cold forging of TC16 titanium alloy fasteners. This is the first time in China, and it has great significance to eliminate the overheating, the existence of product hot upsetting process of burnt risk, ensure the quality stability of titanium alloy fastener products, and improve the efficiency of production and processing.
Due to the plastic deformation capacity can not meet the need of continuous cold heading, before, the domestic fastener manufacturing enterprises have been processed by hot upsetting forming of TC16 titanium alloy fasteners production aircraft models. Only the hot upsetting process needs through the broken material heating, forging, turning, etc. The production efficiency is low, and the material still has some hidden danger of overheating, burning quality in the processing process.
In order to ensure the products quality and improve the production efficiency, Aerospace Precision and Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Metal have a  cooperation project, they carry out the technology innovation activities according to the performance of raw materials and forging technology. Through their efforts, Aerospace Precision with the new cold heading of using TC16 titanium alloy coiled wire successfully realized the continuous cold forging of TC16 titanium alloy fasteners for the first time in China.
